Symmetrel is approved to treat or prevent the flu in children as young as one year old. However, it is not approved for other uses in children.
Off-Label Symmetrel Uses
On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Symmetrel for treating something other than the conditions discussed in this article. This is called an "off-label" use. At this time, there is some interest in using Symmetrel off-label to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and chronic hepatitis C.
